Spencer is set on the distant, toxic planet of Euronomous. Once a colony, it was suddenly abandoned long ago in an event known locally as The Collapse. All knowledge of the advanced technology that the people depended on to survive was lost.  
 
Hundreds of years after The Collapse, society had rebuilt itself and recovered from the chaos and bloodshed that followed. City states and feudal empires rose up from the abandoned towns and outputs left behind, clustered around the irreplaceable atmospheric generators that provide the only breathable air on the planet.

In this world there are Scavengers. Groups of desperate men and women that brave the dangers of the wilds to find ertek, pieces of advanced technology left over from when Earth was still with them. Each run the scavengers make into the wilds holds the promise of fortune to the lucky and death to the careless.
